Mice infestation caused by neighbours? What to do? Mice proofing!

Mice proofing. A family of three living on top floor converted Terrace Victorian House in Catford. The level of infestation was high. Over the years they relied on treatment only with only short term success. They were surrounded with by three properties highly infested.

On inspection, the ground floor flat was in need of repair, and the two elderly tenants couldn’t keep up, with cluttered and messy surroundings. The next house was a family house, the kitchen was in need of repair and a bit grubby with droppings throughout. The tenants there were in denial but still allowed me to put a few baits down. On the other side, we had a house with tenants that were very secretive and refused any help even though they wouldn’t have to foot the bill.

We baited and proofed thoroughly the property throughout. We left instruction to the tenant to monitor the poison level and to call us whenever the poison would be depleted or at the first mice sighting or the first dropping that would clearly indicate that some gaps still need attending.

We received a call a couple of months later, all the poison was gone. We replenished them. Later, we had to attend a second time as they had seen dropping in the bedroom. Turns out that one floor boar broke and also the carpet came off from under the skirting boards. We went back and sorted out everything.

I am glad to report that the client didn’t need us ever since, and she is now a strong advocate of our service, and do not lose one opportunity to promote us in the neighbour watch group or among her acquaintances.
